Small Self Administered Pension Scheme (SSAP/SART)

As the name suggests these structures are normally used for Company Directors or Key Employees within a company and would normally have a maximum of 12 members in the scheme. This type of arrangement is used by certain individuals who would like to retain control of the everyday investment of their pension funds. They can be very effective when Direct Property purchase and other direct Asset investment are preferred by the pension investor.

When setting up this type of arrangement a pensioneer trustee will need to be employed and
maintained to ensure that the rules as set out by Revenue are adhered to.
